Overview

The Interdisciplinary Minor in Classical, Ancient, and Medieval Global Studies (CAMGS) is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with an understanding of the culture of the pre-modern world. In conjunction with a major program in anthropology, art history, English, history, philosophy, or political science, the Minor in CAMGS will prepare students for cross-cultural and comparative understanding of the great ancient civilizations and societies spanning the globe. It will assist students planning graduate study in the major field, and can serve to enrich one’s experience and achieve a fuller understanding of contemporary cultures.

Program Requirement

The minor consists of 21 units. Prior approval must be obtained from the advisor for selected topics and directed study courses. No more than 6 units taken for credit in the student’s major program can be used to meet requirements for the minor. Each student’s program must be approved by the director and principal advisor of the CAMGS program.
