Overview
The online and hybrid delivery modes for the required courses of this program are tailored to meet the educational needs of students throughout California who are interested in pursuing a career in the fire service. It equips students with tactical, technical, and management knowledge as fire protection professionals, preparing them to address the challenges of an ever-changing technological landscape in the area of fire protection. The curriculum is developed in close consultation with representatives from all levels of the fire service, including local groups, state, and national committees and boards. The program may be completed entirely via distance education.
Requirement for the Degree
Required for the degree are 120 semester units, including applicable lower division preparation at a community college.
A total of 24 semester units of community college courses may be included in the major program. The remainder of the major is primarily upper-division work. A maximum of 12 units may be taken in lower-division courses.
